Stainless Steel Turnbuckle & Their Uses

Not like many other technical hardware units that have strange names, a stainless steel turnbuckle is precisely as its names say, a buckle that turns. It connects the ends of two lengths of cable/wire/rope/rods, and can tauten or loosen that connection by being rotated.

Though they avail in different shapes & sizes, stainless steel turnbuckles are generally quadrilateral or rectangular and they’ve a screw hole & a threaded insert at each end. The screw holes are threaded in opposite directions henceforth when the turnbuckle is rotated one way both ends will tauten & tension will rise, when rotated the opposite way both ends will tauten & the tension eased out.

Stainless steel turnbuckles are used extensively in innumerable engineering or building projects that requires rods, cables, etc. fastening in a way that can be bendable, factually by the twirl of a screw! One of the best things about a turnbuckle is that tuning in tension can be performed in small increments. To continue reading click on...
